Level I
This class is for beginners. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of Iyengar yoga with an emphasis on standing poses and beginning inversions such as plow, shoulder balance and downward dog. Students generally stay in this class s 6-12 months, sometimes longer.

Level 1-2
This class is for students who feel confident practicing the poses taught in the Level 1 class, can work in sarvangasana for 5 minutes and are ready to begin working with more complex standing poses, new seated forward bends and twists, and beginning backbends. Students are also introduced to headstand as they become ready.

Level 2
This class is for students who are confident with the poses taught in the Level 1-2 class and have studied yoga in the Iyengar tradition continuously for at least one year. Students are introduced to more complex standing poses, forward bends, backbends, and twists. They also begin to work with new inversions including pincha mayurasana, forearm balance, and adho mukha vrksasana, full arm balance as well as with new variations in salamba sarvangasana, shoulderstand.

Level 3
In order to participate in this class, you need to have studied yoga in the Iyengar tradition continuously for at least 3 years and have an ongoing home practice. Specifically, you need to have a regular practice of sirsasana and sarvangasana, be able to go up into adho mukha vrksasana at the wall without assistance and push up into urdhva dhanurasana on your own, with or without props.

Ageless
This class is for both beginners and experienced students. While all poses are done with support, this is not a gentle class. Students are asked to work to their capacity safely. If you have chronic pain, injuries, or other special challenges, talk to Sharon to see if this class may work for you.
